Automatic operation for body temperature
BHC-301A can be set for the actual needs of the human body temperature as a controlling basis to control the heating or cooling of the water mattress and to achieve the purpose of controlling the body temperature. We call it [automatic body temperature controlling]. The method is to connect the sensor between BHC - 301A and the patients at both ends to set the desired value of the patient body temperature by pressing "automatic body temperature" button, and then BHC - 301A will automatically determine the required warming-up or cooling-down water temperature to achieve the purpose of controlling patient temperature.
Operation processes are as follows:
- Check the body temperature sensor if it is correctly installed on the body.
- Plug the body temperature sensor in the socket in the front of BHC-301A.
- Turn on AC main power switch.
The main power switch indicator lights up.
HC-301A’s microcomputer self-detecting body and water temperature indicators show "As the normal system," and five seconds later the display is off. Afterwards, the monitors on the right and left sides show the body temperature and water temperature respectively.
- Press power ON / OFF button to start BHC-301A; and at this time, the water pump system takes action to start the circulation, and then the central monitor shows "prompt the user to input the desired value of the patient’s body temperature.”
- Press the “Setting button”, and then the central monitor will show" the desired default values of the body temperature "; and at this time, adjust the desired patient’s temperature values.
- Press the "Temperature warming-up " or " Temperature cooling-down lamp" button
- The buzzer will ring twice.
- Adjust the body temperature by setting temperature to get the desired value of the patient’s body temperature.
- Press the button by not letting go of, and then the desired values can be quickly adjusted.
- Temperature setting range: 10 ℃ ---> 42 ℃
- Temperature display range: 10 ℃ ---> 43 ℃
- Press the "Auto button"
- The buzzer will ring twice.
- LED automatically lights up; and BHC-301A starts the function of "Automatic body temperature control."
- BHC-301A will automatically determine the system of warming up or cooling down according to the body temperature and the temperature set by the body temperature.
- When the body temperature detection system (the temperature set by the body temperature) is operating the cooling down process, the LED lamp is always lit indicating that the cooling-down system is being operated.
Press the body temperature detection system (the temperature set by the body temperature) to operate the warming-up procedure. When the warming-up LED is lit, it indicates that the warming-up system is being operated. When the body temperature detection system (the temperature set by the body temperature) has been set, the temperature setting LED will be always lit indicating that the body temperature of the patient has reached to the required value.
When the desired body temperature value set by the user is not in the correct range (10 ℃ ---> 42 ℃), press "Auto button", and then the temperature desired value will flash to alert the user to re-key in the correct value; at this time, the user has to re-press "the setting button " to key in the correct value, and then press " the Auto button” by which the system can correctly be operated.
If the above processes occur an alert status, the warning lamp on the left side corresponding to the operation panel will light up; and the buzzer will continuously beep to warn the system to suspend the operation. At this time, the user should exclude this abnormal condition to resume the normal operation system.
The sound of buzzer alarm can be cancelled by pressing "alert cancel button". At this time, the warning lamp is indicated by flashing.
After the above operation has been completed, BHC-301A’s operation at this moment is under “automatic controlling mode of the body temperature”; and the user should continue to monitor the operation status of the patient and the machine body. If necessary, make an appropriate disposition.
Manual operation for water temperature
BHC-301A can be set for the actual needs of the water temperature as a controlling basis to control the heating or cooling the water mattress and to achieve the purpose of controlling the water temperature. We call it [manual water temperature controlling]. The method is to open the main engine by pressing the "Power ON / OFF button" for setting the desired value of the water temperature. Further press "Water temperature manual button”, then BHC - 301A will automatically determine, according to the water temperature and the set temperature, the required warming-up or cooling-down water temperature to achieve the purpose of controlling water temperature.
Operation processes are as follows:
- Turn on the AC main power switch.
The main power switch indicator lights up.

- Press the "manual control button”.

3. BHC-301A will automatically determine the system of warming up or cooling down according to the water temperature and the water temperature set by the temperature system.
4. When the water temperature detection system (the water temperature set by temperature system) is operating the cooling down process, the LED lamp is always lit; and when the water temperature detection system (water temperature set by temperature system) is operating warming-up process, the warming-up LED is always lit indicating that the warming-up system is being operated. When the water temperature detection system (the water temperature set by temperature system) has been set, the temperature setting LED will be always lit to indicate that the water temperature has reached to the required value.
- If the above processes occur an alert status, the warning lamp on the left side corresponding to the operation panel will light up; and the buzzer will continuously beep to warn the system to suspend the operation. At this time, the user should exclude this abnormal state to resume the normal operation system.
- The sound of buzzer alarm can be cancelled by pressing "alert cancel button". At this time, the warning lamp is indicated by flashing.

The method of operating body temperature monitoring
The main purpose of body temperature monitoring function of BHC-301 A is to use the body temperature monitoring function in BHC-301A to monitor the changes of the patient’s body temperature with a temperature sensor; however, it is only a monitoring function; and it does not perform the warming-up or cooling-down process.
Operation processes are as follows:

- Monitor test functions:
When press the "Test button" by not letting go of, the system will enter the monitor test functions.
- The purpose is to inspect if all the displays and LED lamps on the panel board are normal.
- All of the displays and LED lamps on the operation panel will respectively lights up every one second; and the operator can use them to check whether there is hyphenation on the screen or the LED displays defective.
Function of selecting the displays of Centigrade and Fahrenheit
Press the "Centigrade/Fahrenheit selection button" each time to change the temperature display for Centigrade or Fahrenheit.
The method of discharging the circulating water
The use of the circulating water in this system should be regularly replaced. The method is as follows:
- Stop the running of BHC-301A by turning off the power switch.
- Connect the drain outlet to the drain pipe.
- Open the drain valve switch to discharge the circulating water.
- Don’t forget to close the drain valve after discharging the water.
- Connect the mattress to BHC-301 if you want to simultaneously discharge the water in the mattress.
Description of the fuse replacement
Process of fuse replacement for BHC-301A:
- Disconnect the AC power cord
o Loosen five screws in the glove box on the back of BHC-301A.
o Open the glove box in which the fuse at the top of the inner switchboard can be found.
o replac the fuse with a new one ( 15A/250VAC)
o Close the glove and lock the screws accordingly.
Cautions of other matters::
1. Please read the operation manual before using this equipment carefully.
2. Please use a separate power socket and 15A fuse.
3. Make sure that the model of the power supply voltage and frequency used in this machine before plugging in the power cord.
4. This device must be vertical to the horizontal floor; and do not place it lying flat.
5. based on patient’s safety considerations, this machine is required a continuous monitoring in the course of use and the qualified medical physicians responsible for clinical applications and professional judgment.
6. When the alarm sounds, the operator should immediately deal with the alarm occurring, troubleshooting, and re-operate thereof.
7. This device should be far from explosive materials and flammable gas.
