Based on those marketing experience in retail industry, the owner observed the potential of gardening tools. After serious evaluation, he started R&D and production for gardening tools. During early stage of establishment, it mostly focused on OEM products which were sold to US and European market. Meanwhile, they planned to have their own brand and constantly accumulated the experience of gardening tools and its related information from visiting well-known international hardware show and European retail market. In 1980s, its own brand SUMIO was born. They expanded to European market and invested a lot in the development and design of exclu- sive products. While 16pcs tool set came in to the market, it was a big hit and made more and more people know SUMIO.Concentrating on research and design, there are 1 to 2 new products every year with patent. Plenty of products won Taiwan Good Design Award and Taiwan Excellence Award.
